vibronel operates this website as the data controller under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We decide how and why personal data is processed in connection with our professional hub for live television production, covering studio equipment integration, camera techniques, acoustics, lighting and production processes.

This policy covers visitors to the site, individuals who submit enquiries via the contact form, and anyone whose personal data we process while providing information or services related to live television production courses and resources in the United Kingdom.

Categories of personal data we collect and their sources

We collect identification data such as name and job title, contact details including email address and telephone number, technical data such as IP address and browser type, and usage data from site interactions. Information is obtained directly from you when you use the contact form or browse the site, and indirectly through analytics tools.

Purposes of processing and legal bases

We process data to respond to enquiries on the basis of legitimate interests or consent where appropriate. Site analytics are conducted under legitimate interests to improve user experience. Marketing communications, if you opt in, rely on consent. Contractual necessity applies if you purchase access to course materials.

Is providing data obligatory

Supplying contact details via the form is voluntary, yet without them we cannot reply to your query. Technical data is collected automatically and cannot be refused without disabling essential site functions.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies for essential operation and performance measurement. Full details appear in our separate Cookie Policy, which explains how to manage preferences through the site-wide cookie banner.

Recipients and service providers

Personal data may be shared with hosting providers, analytics platforms, and email delivery services acting as processors under contract. We disclose information only when required by law or to protect legal rights.

International transfers

Some processors are located outside the UK. Transfers rely on UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses approved by the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Retention periods

Enquiry data is kept for up to two years after the last contact. Technical logs are retained for twelve months. Course-related records are kept for six years to meet tax and contractual obligations.

Security and data minimisation

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures including encryption and access controls. Data collection is limited to what is necessary for the stated purposes.

Your data protection rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection to processing. Submit requests using the contact form or by writing to The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester M50 2EQ, United Kingdom or emailing [email protected].

You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us or using unsubscribe links. Objections to direct marketing or profiling will be actioned promptly.

Complaints to the supervisory authority

If you are dissatisfied you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, the UK’s data protection regulator.

Children and age restrictions

The site is intended for professionals aged eighteen and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Automated decision-making and profiling
