Legal Information & Company Details
Last updated: 5 November 2026
This page is the legal notice, company disclosure and imprint for this website. It explains who operates the site, how the operating company is registered in the United Kingdom, how you can reach us, what you may and may not do with our content, and how we handle the legal formalities that apply to a commercial website published in England and Wales. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Terms and Conditions of Business, and Payment and Refund Policy, each of which is referred to in plain text in this notice.
1. Identity of the website operator and its role
This website is owned, operated and published by vibronel. vibronel is the data controller for personal data collected through this site (including the contact form on our Contacts page) and is the supplier of any equipment hire, studio integration support or production services ordered from us. Where this notice says "we", "us" or "our", it means vibronel.
The site is a professional hub for live television production. It covers studio equipment integration, dynamic camera technique, acoustic optimisation, lighting set-ups and the production processes that keep news programmes, interviews and live shows reliable under time pressure. Our role is therefore twofold: we publish technical and practical reference material, and, where you engage us, we supply equipment and production support under a separate written contract.
The material published here is professional reference information. It is not a broadcast, not a substitute for a site-specific risk assessment, and not legal, financial, insurance or engineering advice for your own production. Nothing on this website creates a client relationship, a hire agreement or a duty of care beyond the duties we owe under general law and under any signed contract between us.
2. Legal form, registration details and tax identifiers
vibronel trades as a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales under the Companies Act 2006. The following identifiers are the non-contact legal identifiers that apply to the operator of this website:
- Company name: vibronel
- Company registration number: 13033970
- Country of registration: England and Wales
- VAT registration number: 494089156
- Registered office: The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester M50 2EQ, United Kingdom
- Company director and responsible representative: Jon Howarth
- Registered business activity: rental of camera and lighting equipment for film, television and media production
Our public filing history, including accounts and confirmation statements, is available from Companies House under the registration number shown above. If any of the details on this page change, we will update them here and, where the change is significant, we will note it in the change log described in section 13.
2.1 Regulatory and licensing position
Supplying cameras, lighting, audio equipment and production support does not require a broadcasting licence from Ofcom; licences of that kind apply to the broadcasters who transmit services, not to the suppliers who provide the kit and the crew. Where we supply electrical equipment, it must meet the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016, and it is maintained and tested under our portable appliance testing schedule. Where lifting equipment or work-at-height equipment is supplied, we follow the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 and the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Where aerial filming is proposed, the flight operator, not the hire desk, is responsible for any permission required from the Civil Aviation Authority.
2.2 Invoicing, VAT and business records
We are registered for VAT in the United Kingdom under number 494089156. VAT is charged on taxable supplies at the rate in force at the time of supply, and invoices are issued in the name of vibronel with the registration number printed on them. All prices quoted on this website are indicative unless a written quotation states otherwise. Business records are retained for the periods required by UK tax and company law.
3. Registered office, service address and contact details
Our registered office is The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester M50 2EQ, United Kingdom. This address is also the address at which we accept service of legal documents, statutory notices, court papers and other formal correspondence, and it is the address that should be used for anything that must reach us in writing.
For day-to-day enquiries you can reach us by email at [email protected], by telephone on 0161 886 5300, or through the contact form on our Contacts page. Using the contact form is the quickest route for general questions about availability, technical specifications and production planning.
3.1 What to include in your message
- Your name, organisation and a daytime contact address.
- The nature of your enquiry: equipment hire, integration support, production services, data protection, or a legal or contractual notice.
- Any relevant dates, locations and technical requirements, so that we can route your message to the right person immediately.
3.2 Response times and formal notices
We aim to answer routine enquiries within two working days, although peak periods in live production can extend that. Notices that have legal effect, including claims, complaints and data protection requests, should be sent to [email protected] and will be treated as received on the next working day after transmission if sent before 4pm on a working day, or on the following working day otherwise. Nothing in this section prevents you from serving documents at our registered office in the manner permitted by law.
4. Purpose, scope and intended audience of this website
This website is a professional hub for people working in live television production. Its purpose is to share practical guidance on studio equipment integration, dynamic camera movement and framing, acoustic treatment of studios and control rooms, lighting design for multi-camera sets, and the production processes that make news programmes, studio interviews and live shows dependable. It also describes the equipment and support services that vibronel can provide.
The site is aimed at professional and semi-professional users: producers, directors, technical managers, lighting and sound technicians, studio engineers, freelancers and facility operators working in the United Kingdom. It is not directed at children, and it is not consumer advice for home video, amateur streaming or domestic installations. Where we sell to consumers, consumer law gives additional rights that this notice does not remove; those rights are described in section 12.
5. Access to the website and acceptable use
You may browse this website free of charge for lawful purposes. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available, uninterrupted or free from error, and we may suspend, withdraw or restrict access to all or part of it for maintenance, security or business reasons without notice.
When using this website you must not:
- use it in any way that breaches applicable law, including data protection, computer misuse and intellectual property law;
- introduce viruses, malware, ransomware or any other harmful code, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the site or circumvent any security or authentication measure, except with our prior written consent;
- use automated tools to harvest content, contact details or any other data from the site, or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
- reproduce, republish or commercially exploit our content, or present it as your own or as the work of another business;
- use the site to send unsolicited commercial communications, or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
We may suspend or terminate your access, and take legal or technical steps to protect the site, if we reasonably believe you have breached these rules.
6. Intellectual property, trade marks and permitted use of content
All content on this website, including text, diagrams, photographs, illustrations, layouts, code, and the selection and arrangement of the material, is owned by or licensed to vibronel and is protected by copyright and related rights under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and, where applicable, by database rights. The copyright notice reads: © 2026 vibronel. All rights reserved.
You may view the site on screen, print or download individual pages for your own internal professional reference, and quote short extracts in internal documents or teaching material, provided you attribute the extract clearly to vibronel and mention this legal information page. Any other use requires our prior written permission.
In particular, you may not copy, republish, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, mirror, frame or systematically extract the content; create derivative works from it; remove or obscure authorship or copyright notices; or use the content to train, fine-tune or evaluate machine learning or generative systems. We reserve our rights in respect of text and data mining to the fullest extent permitted by law, including the right to opt out of the exceptions that would otherwise apply.
The names of third-party manufacturers, hardware platforms, software tools and standards mentioned on this site are the trade marks of their respective owners and are used for identification and descriptive purposes only. Nothing on this site grants you a licence to use our business name, logo or branding without written consent.
7. Data protection, privacy and cookies
vibronel is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. We handle that data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, for electronic marketing and cookies, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).
7.1 What we collect and why
We collect the information you choose to send us through the contact form or by email, technical information such as your IP address, browser type and pages viewed, and any records needed to administer a hire or production contract. Our lawful bases are performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business, and consent where we rely on it, for example for non-essential cookies or marketing messages.
7.2 Cookies and the cookie banner
This site uses a site-wide cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies, which keep the site secure and remember your cookie choices, are set on the basis of our legitimate interests and do not require consent. Analytics, preference and any marketing cookies are set only after you consent through the banner, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by reopening the banner or clearing cookies in your browser. We do not set non-essential cookies before consent, and we do not sell personal data.
7.3 Your rights and how to exercise them
Subject to the conditions in data protection law, you have the right to be informed, to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at [email protected]. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which regulates data protection in the United Kingdom. We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, plus any retention period required by tax, accounting or insurance rules, and we apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it.
8. Terms and conditions, hire agreements and related policies
The following documents form part of our contractual and regulatory framework and should be read alongside this legal notice. They are available from our office on request and are referred to here in plain text only:
- Privacy Policy, which explains in full how we collect, use, share and retain personal data.
- Cookie Policy, which lists the cookies used on this site, their purpose and their duration.
- Terms and Conditions of Business, which govern the use of this website and the supply of our services.
- Equipment Hire Terms, which govern availability, booking, delivery and collection, condition of equipment, damage, loss and late return.
- Payment and Refund Policy, which sets out accepted payment methods, deposit arrangements, invoicing and the circumstances in which refunds or credits are given.
- Returns and Cancellation Policy, which explains how to cancel a booking and how hired goods are returned.
- Sustainability Policy, which describes how we manage energy, transport and waste in production work.
- Modern Slavery Statement, which sets out the steps we take to check our supply chain under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
9. Accuracy, availability and limitation of liability
We prepare the technical content on this site with reasonable care and keep it under review, but production technology changes quickly and every studio, gallery and set has its own constraints. The content is provided for general information on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and we give no warranty that it is complete, current or suitable for a particular production. You are responsible for verifying specifications with the manufacturer, for carrying out your own risk assessment, and for complying with any site rules that apply where you work.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of or corruption of data, and any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website. Where we supply equipment or services, our liability is governed by the applicable hire or service contract, including any limit of liability and insurance arrangements stated there. Nothing in this notice limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, or for any right you have as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
10. External links and third-party content
This website may refer to external standards, manufacturers, software tools or organisations. We do not control third-party websites or content, and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security or privacy practices. A reference or link is provided for convenience and does not amount to endorsement. If you follow a link to another site, that site's own terms, cookies and privacy notice will apply, and any dealings you have with that third party are between you and them.
11. Equipment hire, safety and production formalities
Where you hire equipment or engage us for production support, the following formalities apply in addition to this notice:
- Hire is subject to a written booking confirmation that identifies the equipment, the hire period, the delivery or collection point and the charges.
- We may ask for identification, a purchase order or a credit account before releasing equipment, and for a deposit or insurance certificate for higher-value or specialist items.
- Electrical equipment is tested and labelled before release, and cables, distribution boards and rigging accessories are supplied with the relevant certificates where available.
- Rigging, lifting and work at height must be carried out by competent persons, using the correct equipment and inspection regimes.
- For on-site work we can provide a risk assessment and method statement, and we expect to receive the venue's own rules, access times and any permit-to-work requirements in advance.
- Equipment remains our property at all times, and responsibility for loss or damage passes to the hirer in the circumstances set out in the Equipment Hire Terms.
12. Applicable law, competent courts and consumer dispute rights
This legal notice and any dispute arising out of or in connection with your use of this website are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, and we both agree to that jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, and nothing in this notice affects your statutory rights. Where we sell to consumers by distance contract, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give a cancellation right in most cases; that right can be affected where goods are hired for a specific date or period, where items are made or configured to your specification, or where services have already been fully performed with your agreement.
We aim to resolve complaints quickly through our internal procedure. We are not willing, and are not obliged, to submit disputes to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider, and no ADR body is appointed for our sector. This does not prevent you from taking court action, from contacting Citizens Advice or a trading standards service, or from using any consumer redress scheme that may apply to your particular contract.
13. Changes to this legal notice and how to contact us
We review this page regularly and may update it to reflect changes in our company details, our services or the law. The version published on this page is the current one, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will highlight it on this page and, where we hold your contact details and it is appropriate to do so, we will tell you directly.
The contact route for all questions about this notice, company information, data protection or contractual matters is email at [email protected], telephone on 0161 886 5300, or post to our registered office at The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester M50 2EQ, United Kingdom.
